Accreditation

From 4 July, all employers wishing to hire migrants on an Employer-assisted work visa will need accreditation.

There are four types of accreditations depending on the employer’s structure and the number of migrants they wish to simultaneously hire:

Standard Accreditation

The Standard Accreditation application verifies the quality of the employer’s legal, financial and business practices.

High Volume Accreditation

The High-Volume Accreditation is aimed to verify the quality of the employer’s legal, financial and business practices.

It allows the employer to hire six or more workers on an Accredited Employer Work Visa at a time.

Franchisee Accreditation

Franchisees are companies that hold a license to do business under a franchisor’s trademark and business model.

This structure is intended by INZ as a potential risk-factor with regard to immigration and employment practices.

As such, Franchisee Accreditation involves some additional requirements compared to other accreditations.

Labour Hire Accreditation

Triangular employers’ business structures are based on the lending of workers to third parties.

As such, these companies are considered by INZ to be at high-risk when it comes to immigration and employment practices.

For this reason, Labour Hire Accreditation applications are particularly complex and involve extensive verifications.
